Short introduction to TV
The first TV was ade available to the public in 1925 by John Logie Baird. Back then because TV was such a new thing and was so expensive to make, not many people could afford one. In 1941 the first 10 inch black and white TV was sold for $375. Now in 2013 you can you can get 3D smart TV's that can connect to the internet which can go for thousands of pounds and the size of the Tv's in 2013 can go up from 4-5 inches from watching on your phone to 110 inch for the new samsung TV that you can own in your own home. Out of all the people in the world around 238,000,000 of them watch televison each day. This is one of the biggest sectors as there are a lot of people employed that go into making one TV program. The TV industry employs over 55,000 people in the UK alone. Some of the most viewed programmes in the UK are mainly on BBC1 with Eastenders , X Factor and Britain’s got Talent. The most viewed programme in television history in the UK was the royal wedding with just under 36.7 million. Eastenders is the UK’s most watched programme daily with other 9 million views.
These obligations include:
- Making sure they have suitable content on there channels.
- Making sure that it doesnt offend anyone with what they put on there channels.
- They are telling you true facts on shows such as news and documentrys.
- They make sure that all of the money the public pays for TV licence to good use by putting content on the TV that views want to watch.
